ILO took up the complaint of the SMBB regarding the serious violations of trade union rights

The struggle of mineworkers of Bulqiza to organise in democratic trade unions and to negotiate decent wages and working conditions continues

The case of violations of freedom of association and collective bargaining right of mineworkers in Bulqiza makes it to the International Labour Organisation (ILO).

On 29 July 2020, the ILOs Committee on Freedom of Association took up the complaint of the United Miners of Bulqiza Trade Union (SMBB) regarding the serious violations of trade union rights by the employer AlbChrome and the Federation of Trade Unions of Industrial Workers of Albania (FSPISH ), as well as the regarding the failure of the state authorities to ensure compliance with the core ILO Conventions.
