The miners are forced to work in a pandemic time!

The mining sector doesn't produce any basic goods for the society, but miners' health and lives continue to be put at risk.

While the State Inspectorate of Health in Region of Dibra states that it has taken the necessary measures to protect the miners from COVID-19 virus, these are the conditions in which they are being transported to and back from work every day and the working conditions inside the mine (Pictures are published by Reporter.al). Not only COVID-19 is a risk the miners are facing, but also the institutional irresponsibility and the owner's greed too.

Although the situation continues to worsen because of COVID-19, work still normally continues in the mining sector. Albeit this sector doesn't produce any basic goods for the society, miners' health and lives continue to be put at risk. The United Miners of Bulqiza Trade Union's numerous calls towards the institutions and the companies operating in the mining sector to halt work have fallen on deaf ears. The least one can do, while the state and the owners are firms to risk the miners' health, is to reward them later for continuing to work even in such conditions.

Since the only financial source of our trade union comes from the contributes of supporters, we call you to assist SMMB as far as possible. Any contribution, however modest, is of great help to us and to the battle for the rights of miners.
