We won the first labour trial against AlbChrome

Beqir Duriçi won in the first court instance and they should be indemnified by AlbChrome

This autumn marks two years since the founding of the United Miners of Bulqiza Trade Union (SMBB) by the miners themselves. At the same time, it is almost two years since the extraordinary attack that AlbChrome made on our union.

Only 5 days after the announcement in the center of Bulqiza, Elton Debreshi — the leader of United Miners of Bulqiza Trade Union (SMBB) — was illegally fired. AlbChrome responded to the miners' strike by deepening lawlessness and injustice: firing three union council members — Beqir Duricin, Behar Gjimi and Ali Gjeta — and threatening dozens of miners.

We have sued the illegal dismissals in court, where we have requested compensation, as well as to the Commissioner for Protection from Discrimination. After many delays by the courts, pressure and interference from the company, one of the lawsuits is over.

Beqir Duriçi won in the first court instance and they should be indemnified by AlbChrome. The company has taken the issue to the Court of Appeal, but we will go to the end of our law, even in international courts.
